IT’S NOT A RACE – IT’S A CHALLENGE!
WALKING FOR MENTAL HEALTH
COASTREK SYDNEY EVENT GOAL: to raise – $ 1,800,000, raised so date – $ 1,649,008 (9th April 2021)
On Friday 19th March, Xmirus teams X Wo-Men I and X Wo-Men II entered the Sydney Coastrek and pledged to walk an obscenely long way, 30km. In one day we climbed unforgiving hills, ascended hundreds of stairs, pushed through bush tracks and stomped through soft sand.
There was a good reason that kept us going to the finish line….
We took this challenge to raise funds for our Charity of Choice, Beyond Blue, supporting mental health in Australia.
In Australia, right now:
- Over 1,000,000 people have depression
- Over 2,000,000 people are experiencing anxiety.
Tragically, on average, 8 people take their lives every day. That is nearly 3,000 souls per year. 🙁
We endured the pain, blisters, chaffing, aching feet, and exhaustion – but it was all worth the effort.
Thank you to everyone that donated to the Xmirus Teams we appreciate and value your support we have raised $2361.00 for this worthy cause.
We hope to do it all again next year, so let the training begin.
